| The 27th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach (TGPLB) is part of the CART FedEx Championship Series. See 2000 CART Schedule. WHEN April 6-8, 2001 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) WHERE: The downtown city streets of Long Beach surrounding the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center and running adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific. Start/Finish line is located on Shoreline Drive. THE CIRCUIT: 1.97 miles, 11 street circuit turns. 2001 Circuit Map. WHO: An international field of world-class drivers, led by defending Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach champion Paul Tracy, former Long Beach winner Michael Andretti (1986) plus Mauricio Gugelmin, Max Papis, Gil de Ferran, Alex Zanardi, Dario Franchitti, Kenny Brack and Helio Castroneves. SUPPORT EVENTS: Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race: The 25th annual race features entertainment and sports celebrities challenging each other in identically-prepared Toyota Celicas. Toyota Atlantic Championship: The 18th appearance on the streets of Long Beach for the open-wheel/Toyota- powered race cars. Dayton Indy Lights Championship: Now in its 16th season as the "Official Development Series" of the CART FedEx Series, drivers compete in identical Lola racecars. ECONOMIC IMPACT: Annually, the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach generates an economic impact of more than $38 million.
